I am Juan Fernando Velasquez. I have a degree in Translation and Interpretation from Universidad Central de Venezuela. My languages are A) Spanish, B) English, and C) French. But I work mainly in English and Spanish.
In Venezuela, I co-founded two translation and interpreting services companies. The first one was founded by a group of fellow students. Cooperativa Clic, which was in operation from 2007 until 2012, when the group split up due to professional differences. We worked with the public and private sectors. In 2012, as a family venture, we founded ABC Producciones C.A., a professional translation, interpretation, and audiovisual services company for corporate events. We specialize in rendering event production, logistics, and protocol services. From Caracas, we covered events all over the country and abroad.
Our team is made up of professionals with extensive experience in interpretation, translation, and event production. We use high-tech resources and trained personnel to provide the audiovisual support that any large production demands. Ensuring a high-quality service and offering the best working and economic conditions for our team are two factors that have given us the advantage of always having the availability of the specialists our clients require. The full satisfaction of our clients through dedicated and personal service has been the main goal of my endeavors.
In 2014 we made the decision to internationalize ABC Producciones and started operations in Colombia. At the same time in Bogota, I started working as a freelancer for multiple colleagues and companies.
In late 2018, I was offered the Interpreting Services Coordination at the OAS in Washington DC, a position that allowed me to meet a multitude of top-notch colleagues who provide services to both the OAS and a myriad of international organizations, large companies, and the government sector in the United States and the rest of the world. In mid-2019, I decided to return to Bogota to continue my business and shape a remote interpreting project that I have been pursuing since 2014. I am currently working hard to offer my experience as a professional translator and conference interpreter to clients and colleagues who entrust me with various assignments in different fields of knowledge: oil, medicine, politics, economics, international organizations, technology, etc.
